Yamashita Co.

The most famous company in Japan.

& it is known in worldwide.

Yamashita Co. owns a lot of hotels & minor company.

The founder of Yamashita Co. is Yamashita Koujirou.

Yamashita Tomohisa, his son is currently the CEO of Yamashita Co.

 

“Good morning, Yamashita-san.” A beautiful receptionist greets him as he walks into this big building.

“Good morning.” He greets back with a smile.

The receptionist nearly fainted when she saw his smile.

His wonderful smile.

Almost every female in this building likes him.

They talked about him most of the time.

 

He didn’t bother whether the receptionist can afford his smile or not.

He didn’t care.

He just feels like all the females just like him because he is handsome & rich.

Not that they really love him.

He just walks straight the lift without looking back.

 

“Good morning, Yamapi!” Someone behind him greeted before he enter his office.

“….” He didn’t turn back or say anything.

He just continues to walk to his office like nothing happened before.

He opens the door & walk into his office.

 

His office is big.

Almost everything in this room is in black & white colour.

The room has very modern design.

& there is a big part of window on one side of the room.

The view of concrete jungle can be seen form here.

& when the night falls, he can also see the beautiful lights of Tokyo through this window.

 

“Wait!” the person who greeted him just now said.

Yamapi pretends that he didn’t hear the person & closes the door behind him.

“Yamapi!” the person successfully slip in before the door closes.

Yamapi walks to his work desk coolly & sits down on his leather chair.

“Hey! Why didn’t you answered my when I call you just now?” the person asked in a slightly angry tone.

Yamapi didn’t bother & start taking documents out of his briefcase.

“Yamapi…..” the guy keep calling him.

“Stop it, Ikuta Toma!” Yamapi finally shout out after a few minutes.

“....” Toma stopped speaking immediately.

“How many times I told you not to call me Yamapi at work?!” Yamapi said out with angry tone.

“But that’s what I’ve been calling you since we were in high school, Yamapi!”

“……” Yamapi closes his eyes & try to control his anger.

If he doesn’t, Toma might be in hospital later because of serious injury.

“…..What you want from me by following me into my office?” Yamapi asked after a few seconds of silent.

“Oh ya! I nearly forgot. Shun, Masami & I have a plan of celebrating Keiichiro’s birthday. We wanted to ask whether you want to join us.”

“Ya…I nearly forgot about Keiichiro’s birthday! I’m too busy lately. But I am not sure that whether I have time or not….hold on..” Yamapi said as he flips the pages of his dairy.

“It’s ok if you didn’t participate. We all understand that you are busy.” Toma said.

“No, it’s ok. I will try to cancel my appointments at that day. Count me in!” Yamapi said as he closes his diary.

“That’s great! I’ll go tell Shun about this good news!” Toma said happily as he walks out Yamapi’s office.

 

Yamapi turn his chair to face the big window behind him.

He looks at the view of the busy Tokyo morning.

Seems like he is thinking of something in his mind.

 

Ikuta Toma.

Yamapi met him in his 1^st year of high school.

He is a cheerful guy.

& sometimes he acts like a fool.

But he is good looking though.

He is currently single.

He is now working in Yamashita Co. as a Creative Director.

 

Koyama Keiichiro.

Yamapi also met him in his 1^st year of high school.

He is a cheerful guy too.

But he didn’t act like fool like Toma.

He is a normal type & good looking person.

He has a girlfriend, Ichikawa Yui.

He is now working in other company.

 

Oguri Shun.

Yamapi met him in his 2^nd year of high school.

He is a transfer student.

He is a cool guy.

He is more matured compare to Toma & Keiichiro.

He is a good looking guy too.

But now he is also currently single.

He works in other company.

 

Nagasawa Masami

Yamapi met her in his 3^rd year of high school.

She is a normal type girl.

She seems like she have feelings for Yamapi.

But she is just a friend to him.

She is currently single.

She works in Yamashita Co. as a Human Resource Manager.

Chapter 12

 

Place: Yamashita’s House (World 2)

Time: Morning

 

“Good morning, Yamashita-san” an old lady said to a man who stands in front of a mirror.

“Good morning, Kaori-san” the man smiles while he adjusting his necktie.

“Breakfast is ready.” Kaori-san smiles back at the man.

“Ok. I’ll be ready in a minute.” The man said as he fixes his hair.

Kaori-san leaves after she gives a nod to the man.

 

The name of this man is Yamashita Tomohisa.

He is the only heir of the Yamashita family.

His parents migrated to America 2 years ago.

Now he is the CEO of Yamashita Co.

He has very beautiful eyes & he is a very handsome man.

Every girl likes to be with him.

But he just treats them as stranger.

He seems like didn’t have any interest in female.

Some rumors said that he might be a gay.

Actually, he is not.

He likes female too.

He doesn’t show interest in them because he still didn’t found the one he loves.

The one he has feeling for.

To everyone, he seems like he feels very happy.

But actually he always feels lonely inside.

 

Kaori-san is the only one who accompanied him in this house.

She is hired by Mrs. Yamashita to take care of him since he was 10 years old.

She is about 65 years old now and she treats him like her grandson.

She will come to his house early morning & leaves after preparing dinner for him.

He likes her very much.

She is like a grandmother to him.

 

“What do you want to eat for your dinner?” Kaori-san asked while she handed a bread to him.

“erm….why don’t we eat hamburger tonight?” he said out while he stuff some scrambled egg into his mouth.

“All right, I will buy the ingredients afterwards.” Kaori-san said with a smile on her face.

 

“I will go now.” Yamashita Tomohisa said while he wears his shoes.

“Be careful on the way, ok?” Kaori-san said while she hands over the briefcase to him.

“Kaori-san, I am 21 years old already! I can take care of myself.” He said while he takes the briefcase from Kaori-san.

He walks out of the house & takes out his car key & drives his Jaguar to his destination, Yamashita Co.

Chapter 11

 

Place: Grandma House (World 1)

Time: Night

 

“I am back….” Maki said out while she takes off her shoes.

“What am I doing? There is no one at home….” Maki said to herself & walk to her bedroom.

She took some clean clothes & walk toward the bathroom.

She had been alone in this house for 3 months already.

She doesn’t being alone.

After about 20 minutes, Maki walks out of the bathroom with a towel in her hand.

“Ah…so refreshing….Today is a busy day….” Maki sighed.

Maki dried up her hair & lay on her bed.

She turns her head to the right to take a novel on the small table beside her bed.

There are 2 pictures on the small table too.

 

In the 1^st photo, there are a middle age man & woman.

They are hugging a cute little girl.

The little girl holds onto a brown teddy bear.

She had a smile of an angel.

The whole family seems very happy.

 

In 2^nd photo, there is an old woman carrying the same little girl.

The old woman had a smile on her wrinkled face.

The little also holds onto the same teddy bear.

But there is something different.

The little is smiling but there are sorrows in her eyes.

She seems like she is happy but she also feel sad in the same time.

 

Maki looks at the pictures.

She really misses her parents.

Since the day her parents gone, she felt like there is an empty space in her heart.

& it’s really hard to fill it up full again.

Her grandma already fills most of the parts of the empty space.

But there is still a part that is still empty.

Maki doesn’t know who will fill it up, to make her heart full again.

To make her really smile from heart.

 

Maki take the picture that contains her grandma & her.

She lays on her bed & look at the picture.

“Grandma…when are you going to come back…?...” Maki asked out softly.

Tears start forming around her eyes.

She doesn’t like to be alone in this house.

Maki start crying softly.

She puts the photo back in place & turn to hug Kuma-chan.

Kuma-chan is the only one that accompanied her when she was alone in this house.

“Tomo-kun….I need you now….Where are you?.....Can u come to my dream tonight?....Tomo-kun…..”

Maki closes her eyes.

She keeps whispering “Tomo-kun” until she falls asleep.

Chapter 10

 

Place: Library of Tokyo University ( World 1 )

Time: Evening

 

Sound of flipping papers can be heard clearly in library.

There is nobody else except a young woman in here.

She is flipping through books as she jots down some important notes.

 

“Ah!” the young woman suddenly shouted.

A hand tapped on her shoulder just now.

“Shh~~Maki-chan!” A beautiful face showed up in front of Maki.

“Erika! How can you scare me like this?” Maki speak up in as her left hand cover her chest.

“Sorry…I didn’t intend to scare you.” Erika apologized as she pulls out a chair beside Maki.

“Don’t do that again, ok? My heart nearly jumped out!” Maki looks at Erika who sat down beside her.

“Ok…ok….I won’t…” Erika said as she keeps pressing her hand phone keypads.

 “….Erika-chan, aren’t you supposed to be with Kame now?” Maki turn back to face her books again.

“….ya…..” Erika answered. She is not paying attention to Maki.

She just keeps pressing her hand phone keypads.

“Erika! Can you pay attention when I am talking to you?!” Maki stare at Erika angrily.

“Shh! This is a library!” Finally Erika stop pressing her hand phone & look at Maki with a finger on her lip.

Maki rolled her eyes & ignore Erika.

She continues her study.

“I’m chatting with Kame just now.” Erika said as she puts her hand phone back into her pocket.

 

Kamenashi Kazuya is Erika-chan’s boy friend.

He is also known as Kame.

Kame & Erika had been dating for 1 year already.

 

Maki stopped reading & turn back to face Erika.

“I thought this afternoon you said you will be dating with him now?”

“Ya…I was…but I worried about you, Maki-chan.” Erika looks at Maki with a worried expression.

“Worried about me? Why?” Maki asked curiously.

“Maki-chan, you didn’t look well after you came back from hospital.” Erika said.

“…..” Maki didn’t reply.

“Maki-chan, if you want to cry, I am always here…”Erika said softly while hugging Maki.

Maki couldn’t hold her tears anymore.

She hugs Erika tightly & cried.

“….” Erika didn’t say a word. She just taps Maki’s back softly.

“I’m ok now….thanks…” Maki wipes her tears off.

“No need to thank me. This is what friends are for.” Erika handed a tissue to Maki with a smile on her face.

“…..” Maki just smile at Erika.

“Your Grandma will get well soon, Maki-chan.” Erika said to Maki as she places her hands on Maki’s shoulders.

“En!” Maki nodded her head.

Maki turn back to her books & start study again.

Erika looks at her quietly.

“Ne~Maki-chan, you should get a boy friend!” Erika suddenly said out.

“Huh?!” Maki widened her eyes & look at Erika confusedly.

“Ya…you should get a boy friend! You need a boy friend!” Erika said confidently.

“I don’t need a boy friend. I have no time. Besides that, no one likes me!” Maki answered.

“Many guys like you! Jin is one of them too!” Erika looks straight into Maki’s eyes.

“So?” Maki thinks that this conversation is pointless.

“Why don’t you try to accept him?” Erika asked.

“I won’t. I have no special feelings for him. He is just a friend to me. A normal friend.” Maki answered.

“Well, maybe when you start dating him you will have feelings for him!” Erika suggested happily.

“No! I really don’t have feelings for him! That’s why I won’t date him. Understand?”

“But if you didn’t try, you won’t have a boyfriend! Or…maybe…. you still can’t forget about your Tomo-kun?” Erika said while she stares straight at Maki’s eyes.

“Erika-chan!….I don’t want to continue this conversation anymore. Besides, I already forgot how he looks like….. I need to go now. I don’t want to be late for my part-time job.” Maki said as she starts putting her belongings into her bag.

“Bye!” Maki left without leaving any chance for Erika to continue the conversation.

 

Erika didn’t leave the library immediately.

“She really needs a boy friend! She needs someone to care for her…to love her….” Erika said softly to herself.

She takes out her hand phone & starts to chat with Kame.

“I wonder who will she accepts to be her boyfriend. Maybe Tomo-kun will.” Erika said again while her fingers busy pressing the keypads.

 

Chapter 9

 

Place: Fukada Medical Centre ( World 1 )

Time: Winter of 2007, Afternoon.

 

“Good afternoon, Maki-chan.” A lady in white uniform said as Maki walks by.

“Good afternoon, Hana-chan.” Maki stopped & greet the lady with a smile.

“Did you bring any delicious things for us today?” the lady asked as she keeps peeping into Maki’s bag.

“Yes. I bring some dessert I made this morning. Here you go.” Maki smile as she took out a cake box from her bag.

“Wow! Thanks, Maki-chan.” The lady said happily.

Maki smiles & walk away.

 

Hana-chan is a nurse in this hospital.

She is assigned to take cares Maki’s Grandma.

She is a caring person.

Maki felt herself own Hana-chan because she always takes cares of Grandma whenever Maki is busy studying.

That’s why Maki will always bring some presents to her as a gift.

 

Maki continue to walk until she reached her destination, Room 512.

She slowly turns the door knob & pushes the door open.

Her footsteps are soft.

She didn’t want to disturb anyone.

She walks in & closes the door behind her.

 

“Grandma…..” Maki called out softly.

She walks towards the bed near the window.

There is an old lady on the bed.

She is Maki’s Grandma.

“Are you asleep?” Maki asked softly again as she sits down on the chair next to the bed.

She looks at her Grandma’s calm face.

Slowly, her eyes become watery.

She feels like want to cry.

 

Her Grandma had been in this hospital for 3 months already.

Doctor said Grandma had cancer.

At first Maki couldn’t believe it!

Her Grandma seems so healthy all the time.

But she had to accept the cruel fact when she noticed her Grandma start to become weaker day by day.

Without any option, she had to send her Grandma to this hospital.

She wants her Grandma to be cured.

But it’s hard. Seems like the cancer is more serious.

Now the doctor can only gives some medicines to her Grandma to make her less suffer.

Maki feels so helpless.

She can’t do anything to help her Grandma.

Her Grandma, who took care of her since she was small.

Her Grandma, who treated her with love & care.

Grandma is the most important person to Maki.

Now she can’t even do a thing to save her.

She feels so useless.

Maki started to cry softly.

She didn’t want to wake her Grandma up.

She places her hand on her Grandma’s hand.

She wants to make sure that her Grandma is still with her.

She didn’t want her Grandma to leave her.

She doesn’t want to be alone.

Alone in this world without anyone who loves her like her Grandma did.

She doesn’t want to be alone in this world.

 

Chapter 8

 

Place: Grandma’s House( World 1 )

Time: Afternoon

 

Maki’s POV:

 

The necklace!

I’ve seen it before!

But…..where?

I can’t remember….

 

“This is a very special necklace, Maki” Grandma handed the necklace to Maki.

“This is the necklace that helps me find my first love…” Grandma continued.

Maki didn’t say anything.

She is trying to figure out where she seen this necklace before.

She examines the necklace.

Its beautiful…It looks like its alive…..

After a few minutes, she gives up.

She really couldn’t remember it.

“…Grandma, how can this necklace help you find your first love?” Maki opens her mouth and ask her Grandma.

 

Suddenly the phone rang.

Grandma quickly stands up & went to the phone.

Maki followed her.

She notices Nya-chan sitting in the living room.

“Nya-chan…come here…” Maki said as she waved at Nya-chan.

Nya-chan walks slowly towards Maki.

Maki picks up Nya-chan & walks towards her Grandma.

She waits patiently for her Grandma to hang up the phone.

She combs Nya-chan furs gently.

Nya-chan purr softly. He likes it when Maki combs its furs.

 

“Ok…bye…” Grandma said. She hangs up the phone after that.

“Grandma, you haven’t answered my question.” Maki quickly walk to Grandma.

“Well….you will know it later.” Grandma said with a mysterious smile on her face.

She walks back to the rocking chair.

Maki followed behind.

“Why? Why couldn’t you tell me now?” Maki asked.

“It’s not time yet!” Grandma answered while she puts the necklace back into the small white box.

She places the white box & photo back into the box & walks towards her bedroom.

 “Eh?! When is the time?” Maki quickly follow her Grandma.

“…..” Grandma ignored Maki’s question.

“Maki, you should continue cleaning the house. It’s going to be evening soon. I thought you have a date with Erika-chan at 6pm? ” Grandma said calmly while she cleans the window with a damp cloth.

“But……fine……” Maki pouted & walks out Grandma’s bedroom with Nya-chan.

 

“Be patient, Maki….” Grandma said softly after Maki leaves the room.

“Be patient…..you will find out one day….” Grandma said again with a smile on her wrinkled face.

Chapter 7

 

Place: Grandma’s House( World 1 )

Time: Winter of 1998

 

“Grandma, where do you want me to put this?” Maki is holding a box of old clothes.

Today her Grandma suggests to clean the house.

Maki decided to help her Grandma.

She has been cleaning since this morning.

“Why don’t you place it somewhere first? I got something to show you.” Grandma said as she sits on a rocking chair.

She is holding a box in her hand.

A familiar box.

“Ok…” Maki put the box of clothes aside & went to her Grandma.

“Sit down…I have a story to tell you…” Grandma said.

Maki obey her Grandma & sits in front of her.

Grandma opens the box carefully & took out a picture.

“What is it?” Maki asked curiously.

“This is a photo I have taken with my first love.” Grandma said as she handed the photo to Maki.

“Really?!” Maki feel so excited.

She looks at the photo happily.

There is a young man & woman standing together.

Maki can tell that they are happy by the smiles on their faces.

The young woman is definitely her Grandma.

This means that the young man is Grandma’s first love.

“He is so handsome!” Maki look up to her Grandma.

“Yes, he is…” Grandma answered with a smile on her face.

“…Eh?!....Wait!...This means that Grandpa is not your first love?!” Maki suddenly said.

She is shock to know that Grandpa is not Grandma’s first love!

“Yes, your Grandpa is not my first love. He is….” Grandma replied as her finger point at the handsome man in the photo.

“…Do you love him?” Maki asked her Grandma after she keeps herself calm.

She always thought that Grandpa is Grandma’s first love.

“I do love him….until I met your Grandpa…” Grandma said calmly.

“What is his name?” Maki asked curiously.

She feels like she seen this man before.

His eyes are so familiar.

She just couldn’t remember.

“His name is Yamashita Koujirou.”

“Yamashita?....Yamashita…..” Maki keep whispering.

“I met him when I was 15 years old. We immediately fell in love with each other when we first met…” Grandma said while she looks at the scenery of the garden.

“Why didn’t you marry him, Grandma?”

“Something happened, I had to leave him. That’s why we didn’t get married.” Grandma said as she turns her head towards Maki.

“What happened?” Maki wants to know why her Grandma leaves her first love.

“……” Grandma didn’t say anything.

She just keeps looking at the opened box on her lap as if she is thinking of something.

The room is in dead silence now.

Maki didn’t dare to say anything because she thought that her question had hurt her Grandma feelings.

“Maki….” Grandma suddenly said.

Maki look up to her Grandma.

“I have other things to show you….” Grandma said softly while she took out a small white box.

Maki remains silent.

Grandma opens up the small white box & takes out a necklace from it.

Maki eyes widened.

Chapter 6

 

Place: Grandma’s House( World 1 )

Time: Morning

 

“Maki-chan!!” a cute voice called out from the main entrance of the house.

“Ah!Erika-chan!You are here!” Maki said as she puts some books into her bag.

“I’m late…” Maki said while running towards the kitchen.

“Grandma! I am going to school, bye bye!” Maki said to her Grandma.

“Wait! You haven’t eat your breakfast yet! Here, take these.” Grandma handed a lunch box & bread to Maki.

“Thanks, Grandma!” Maki took the lunch box & bread & she place a kiss on her Grandma’s cheek.

Maki runs towards the door as quickly as possible.

 

“Maki-chan! You are so slow!” Erika-chan said while she make a puffy face.

“I am so sorry, Erika-chan. I woke up late.” Maki said as she holds onto Erika-chan’s hand.

“Why you woke up late?” Erika-chan asked Maki while they start walking.

“I couldn’t sleep last night. I am waiting for someone.” Maki said while she eats her bread.

“Waiting for someone?! Who?” Erika-chan asked while she looks at Maki.

“I am waiting for Tomo-kun. I am waiting for him to enter my dream again.” Maki said as she bites her bread again.

“Tomo-kun?! Who is Tomo-kun?” Erika-chan asked with a puzzled face.

“He is a boy I met in my dream yesterday afternoon. He is special.” Maki answered back.

“A boy in your dream? What dream?” Erika-chan stopped walking suddenly.

“Well….Yesterday afternoon I was playing with Kuma-chan…then…..”

Maki tells the whole story to Erika-chan.

 

“So, Tomo-kun is just a boy from your dream?” Erika-chan asked Maki after listen to her story.

“Ya. I feel happy when I played with him. So I tried to wait for him to enter my dream yesterday.” Maki said happily to Erika-chan.

“He didn’t appear in your dream last night?” Erika-chan asked while two of them start walking again.

“No. I don’t know why…” Maki replied sadly.

“Do you like him, Maki-chan?” Erika asked while she looks straight at Maki’s eyes.

“Of course no!” Maki answered back loudly.

“Don’t lie! I know you like him! Your eyes sparkle when you talked about him!” Erika-chan said with a smile on her face.

“No, I didn’t” Maki said loudly with an angry face.

“Yes, you did!” Erika-chan replied loudly as she started to run away from Maki.

“Hey you!” Maki started to chase Erika-chan from behind.

“Maki-chan likes Tomo-kun! Maki-chan likes Tomo-kun…” Erika-chan keeps shouting while she runs as fast as possible.

“Toda Erika!!” Maki yelled out at Erika-chan.

She is really angry right now.

Every time when she is angry with someone she will yelled out their full name.

“Hahaha…..Maki-chan likes Tomo-kun….” Erika-chan didn’t care much about Maki & keep running towards the school.

“Stop saying that…….”

Maki keep chasing while Erika-chan keep running away from her.
